A Sea of Sand & Stars
CONCEPT:
A four look collection designed for the lunar new year celebration hosted by the Vietnamese Student Association of Minnesota.
Based on the show’s theme,
“Once Upon A Time,”
I took inspiration from the magical forces of the world around us.
Focusing on quiet power and elegance, I wanted to express the profound yet simple beauty of the sea, the sand, the sun, and the starry night sky.
Design
Various issues required me to adapt
my designs, but these only developed
my ideas further.
Due to scheduling, some looks changed between the photoshoot and show day.
Most designs were made as 2D patterns, but others were pinned on models and hand sewn or hand painted.
Other steps included budgeting, model fittings, a photoshoot, show rehearsals, and more.
